Obituary Elizabeth Mae (Barrows) Richardson 1924 - 2009 Her Legacy... age 85, of Brooklyn, died Sunday June 21, 2009 in Jackson County. She was born May 18, 1924 in Lansing, MI, to William and Katie (Cornwell) Barrows. Elizabeth was employed at the Willow Run Bomber Plant during WWII as a riveter. She held subsequent jobs at the Oldsmobile Bomber Plant during the Korean Conflict and later at Tuttle's Manufacturing. She was a housewife first raising 5 children and later a member of the Eagles, the Brooklyn Sportsman's Club, the Michigan Snowmobile Association, and the Elbow Benders Snowmobile Club. After becoming a widow in 1987, she joined the Springville United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women's Group. Her Family... Survivors include two sons, Kenneth of Brooklyn, Gerald of Grand Rapids; three daughters Carol Harvey of Brooklyn, Denise Oscar of Dexter, Yvonne Sample of Brooklyn; two step-daughters Sharon Blaker of Jonesville and Bonnie Brunner of Osseo; 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. Her Farewell Service... Memorial donations may be given to Springville United Methodist Church Women’s Group. Envelopes will be available at the Borek Jennings Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m. A Healing Farewell will be Wednesday with visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and celebration of her life at 11 a.m. at the Springville United Methodist Church with Pastor Margery Host and Reverend Melaney Chalker officiating, Interment Norvell Township Cemetery immediately following.
